Public Policy

LEGISLATION, ADVOCACY, REIMBURSEMENT

Do You Want to Make a Difference for Your Profession and Your Community?

The MAND Public Policy Panel is looking for members who would like to make a difference to increase the visibility of our members and association in the public policy arena. This will not only help you and the association, but also the citizens of Massachusetts, who would stand to benefit from progressive state and federal food and nutrition policy and legislation.

We are looking for enthusiastic members to join the MAND Public Policy Panel, no prior policy experience necessary.

In exchange we will mentor you, including helping you to expand your skills, which just might help you move up the ladder either professionally or within MAND. We hope to empower you to serve your community as a nutrition expert.

Your interest and/or skills in just one of these areas can help MAND to position itself in a more visible and dynamic way:

  • Reimbursement for Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT)
  • Dietetic licensure and consumer protection
  • Public health and nutrition programs
  • Increasing access to healthy food
  • Wellness/health promotion
  • Public relations

If you have an interest in any of these areas and are willing to meet via conference call for 30 minutes every month with other PPP members, we need you!

If you are interested in any of these topics or have interest/skills in the areas above, please contact MAND's Director of Public Policy:

Sarah Conca, MPA, RDN, LDN
