Identifying ARFID, BED and OSFED/UFED, the DSM-5’s Newest ED Diagnoses

Seda Ebrahimi, PhD, Founder and Director, Cambridge Eating Disorder Center
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
• Review diagnostic criteria for Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa
• Review Psychiatric comorbidities of Eating Disorders
• Review Medical Complications of Eating Disorders
• Discuss Evidence-Based Treatment Approaches
• Discuss Criteria for Various Levels of Care
Case Studies and Questions will be included

Seda Ebrahimi, PhD has been researching and treating eating disorders since 1986. She began her career as a pre-doctoral intern at Brown University and then became an assistant clinical professor there after a year-long postdoctoral fellowship. Subsequently, she became the Director of the Eating Disorders Research Program at Butler Hospital in Providence, RI and then moved to Belmont, MA to become the Director of the Eating Disorders Treatment Program at McLean Hospital. She has been an instructor of psychiatry at Harvard University since 1993, and she founded the Cambridge Eating Disorder Center in 2000. Dr. Ebrahimi continues to provide clinical education to professionals at conferences and trainings locally and nationally and is a member of the Academy for Eating Disorders, the International Association of Eating Disorder Professions and the American Psychological Association. She is involved in patient advocacy on a local and national level, and enjoys sharing her knowledge about identifying, triaging and treating eating disorder patients with her fellow healthcare professionals.
