Lisa Cohen, PharmD, Associate Professor of Pharmacy, University of Rhode Island
• Discuss the variety of insulin options for treating type 2 diabetes patients
• Discuss the updates of the 2018 American Diabetes Association Professional: Standards of Medical Care
• Evaluate new technologies and their role in treating type 2 diabetes patients
• Identify methods to increase medication adherence strategies with patients
Bio:
Lisa Cohen an Associate Professor of Pharmacy at the University of Rhode Island, a clinical pharmacist, with a research appointment with the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center and a community practice relationship with CVS and the Department of Correction in Rhode Island. Her expertise and program of scholarship focuses on utilizing the pharmacist in diabetes and cardiovascular disease in group education/disease management, technology, and community site pharmacy interventions. She has been a certified diabetes educator since 1998 and has several other pharmacy certifications.
