Join NEMDA as they host the Winter / Spring Series: "From Motherhood to Childhood: Nourishing Moms and Children Throughout the Lifespan." PART 5: The Body on Menopause: What Everyone Needs to Know with Elizabeth Ward, MS, RDN on Thursday, May 13th, 2021 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm (virtual 2.0 CEU event).
Every day, 6,000 women in the United States reach menopause, and millions more are going through the menopause transition (MT), which can last up to 10 years. The MT is characterized by declining estrogen levels which play a role in hot flashes, sleep disturbances, mood swings, and increase the risk for chronic illness. A woman may live up to 40% of her life after menopause occurs.
This session will explore the changes that take place in the body during the transition to menopause and afterwards, as well as the best diet for midlife and older women.
COST: $20 MAND members, $30 non-members, $10 students. REGISTER HERE!
