MAND DEI is happy to present a speaker seares that is partially funded by the academy’s diversity mini-grant 2020.


All three events are free for MAND members.


Session 1: Exploring African American Heritage, History and Health


Speaker: Deanna Belleny, MPH, RDN


Date/time: May 20th 5PM to 6:30PM


Award CEUs: 1.5


Competency: 8.2, 9.2.


In this session, participants will learn about the history of foods that have shaped African American food culture. They will be able to describe the prevalence of diet-related chronic diseases and unpack the role of racism and social determinants of health on achieving health equity.

MDEF Scholarships

For 2025, MDEF will be giving out two MDEF scholarships and one MDEF Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) scholarship to deserving nutrition students, each in the amount of $1500. Please pass along to any nutrition students or interns who may be eligible to apply!
