PART 2: Beyond Big Babies: The Influence of Obesity on Mom & Baby's Health Risks Hillary Wright, MEd, RD, LDN Thursday, February 18th, 2021 6:30 - 8:30 pm (virtual 2.0 CEU event) Most are aware that overweight women are recommended to gain less weight during pregnancy but escalating rates of maternal obesity can also affect the long-term health of both mother and baby, even prior to conception. Learn how preconception weight gain and health status influences eggs quality, reproductive hormones and health risks during and after pregnancy. In addition, review the important role of the RDN to help set the stage for healthy pregnancies. Includes information on the effects of preconception weight loss on reproductive outcomes. Goals: - Identify the risks associated with obesity in pregnancy to both mother and the developing child. - List recommended amounts of weight gain during pregnancy based upon preconception BMI. - Demonstrate understanding of the role of the RDN in managing the care of obese women planning to become pregnant. COST: $20 MAND members, $30 non-members, $10 students. REGISTER HERE!
