Take Action Now!

Updated February 1, 2025

Join us at Day on the Hill 2025

Day on the Hill looks a little different this year! We will be hosting the event on TWO days: March 10th and March 24th.

Each event will start at the offices of MAND’s lobbyists, where attendees will meet a sponsor of MAND’s telehealth MNT bill, learn the basics of nutrition advocacy and enjoy some lunch. After lunch MAND’s Public Policy Panel and dietetic interns will walk a block to the State House to drop off information on MAND to our 200 state legislators.

Everyone is welcome to join! Please register for whichever day fits your schedule: https://www.eatrightma.org/events

Academy Action Alert – Contact your members of Congress

The Academy has an important new action alert. Please take action now to:

  • Urge Congress to avoid the impact of a government shutdown, extend critical waivers and protect nutrition programs. The U.S. House Budget Committee Chair has proposed billions of dollars of cuts to nutrition and other programs, including a $12 billion in cuts to school breakfast and lunch that would worsen food insecurity and health outcomes.

To take action, log into your Academy account and visit the Action Center at https://www.eatrightpro.org/advocacy/take-action/action-alerts

Learn more about a particular federal policy issue

Join an Academy Affinity Group! Connect with fellow members on top policy priorities and learn how to get involved. Register for monthly meetings and join the COI for each affinity group: https://www.eatrightpro.org/advocacy/take-action/grassroots-resources/join-the-academy-affinity-groups

Take the first step to getting more involved with MAND’s advocacy work

Helping out can be as simple as sending an email or a social media message to your state legislators, as this helps to create and grow relationships with elected officials.

Each registered Massachusetts voter is a constituent of one state senator and one state representative. Our elected officials appreciate hearing directly from their constituents, learning about issues important to them. It is when we educate them on nutrition-related issues and directly ask for their support of a bill or policy item that we can begin to see success in policy areas important to us and our fellow nutrition and dietetics practitioners.

Visit https://malegislature.gov/Search/FindMyLegislator to learn who your legislators are and how to contact them. Then keep an eye on this page to learn when and how to contact them.
