Perform education needs of nutrition consumers as well as meeting standards set forth by Executive Office of Elder Affairs (EOEA). Assist with maintaining compliance within the Nutrition Department
RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop South Shore Elder Services (SSES) monthly menu with specific emphasis on using commodity products. Attend monthly menu meetings with Trio Community Meals and Old Colony Elder Services to verify product availability and to finalize the cycle menu. Submit monthly menu specification checklist to EOEA. Input the monthly menu to EOEA Computation Program. Conduct kitchen inspections twice a year at Trio Community Meals. Complete all paperwork and forms and submit to EOEA.
Conduct the Nutrition education sessions to all congregate meal sites. Conduct sanitation trainings to staff and volunteers, as required. Attends and participates in Site Managers monthly meetings.
Attends and participates in EOEA Nutrition meetings. Meet with Nutrition Program Manager regularly to review compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Food and Nutrition. Registered Dietician, Geriatric knowledge and experience, strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of community resources.
Computer skills to meet the needs of the position. Must have Driver’s license and own transportation.
