Weight Inclusive Care in Nutrition and Dietetics

  • Webinar
  • Wednesday, March 05, 2025
Details:

Join Dawn Clifford, PhD, RDN as she presents on weight inclusive care in nutrition and dietetics! The majority of patients and clients who pursue weight loss regain the weight over time. Weight centric practices often result in disordered eating patterns, yo-yo dieting, and perpetuate weight stigma. Many practitioners are turning instead to weight inclusive approaches, which take the focus off of weight outcomes and instead focus on sustainable changes that honor health and well-being.

This 1-hour virtual session will include tangible strategies for applying weight inclusive practices in nutrition care.

Dr. Clifford is an Associate Professor in the Health Sciences department at Northern Arizona University. Her research focuses on 1) the use of non-diet approaches to support overall health and well-being and prevent disordered eating, and 2) the client-centered behavior change counseling technique, Motivational Interviewing. Most recently, Dr. Clifford presented on this topic at FNCE 2024.

This event has been approved for 1 CEU by the Committee on Dietetic Registration.
