Get ready for our Summer CEU Series focusing on World Religion, presented by the MAND IDEA Committee!
This summer we’re hosting three unique webinars, FREE for all attendees! Earn continuing education and learn eating habits & counseling tips of diverse religions.
DATE & TIME: Monday, June 20th at 5:30 pm - 7 pm
JUNE SESSION TOPIC: Bubbe's Cocina and Diverse Dining: World Jewish Flavors and Cultural Competence in Dietetics
SESSION SPEAKER: Monica Moreno, MS, RDN
SESSION DESCRIPTION: You (Jew) think you know.... but you have no idea. Jewish cuisine is as varied as flavors of bagels; and with a heavy emigration presence of Latinx Jews to the US in recent decades, we can now celebrate the bountiful flavors of Latinx Jews, like my own household, in our own clinics and kitchens. You'll dive into varying laws of Jewish dietary observance (kosher ), learn about our weekly Sabbath meals, dissect different medical nutrition-therapy related counseling paradigms for Jews of Latinx and non-Latinx descent, and develop a foundational knowledge of counseling and cultural competence cross-culturally. We may even have time to flip and fry some sweet potato chia arepas and matzo brie. We look forward to having you virtually join us for an exciting series!
